Squire of Nantglyn — Colonel Thomas Alured Wynne Edwards of Plas Nantglyn (1855–1925)
Squire of Nantglyn is the biography of Colonel Thomas Alured Wynne Edwards of Plas Nantglyn, Denbighshire. Heir to a small agricultural estate, Thomas Alured spent much of his early adult life as an agricultural engineer before inheriting the family estate in the late nineteenth century. He played a prominent role in local politics and was an officer in the Territorial Army at the outbreak of the First World War. This book provides an insight into the life of the lesser gentry in north Wales during a period of great social and economic change.
