Author Profile
Bryn Owen was born in Merionethshire in 1928 and educated at Dolgellau Grammar School. He 'swallowed the anchor' upon leaving school and began a naval career that spanned 23 years and culminated in his being commissioned as a gunnery officer. Lieutenant Owen carried out research into Welsh military history as a leisure pursuit while in the Royal Navy and became an acknowledged expert on the subject. He was appointed Curator of the Welsh Regiment Museum, Cardiff Castle in 1978 and was the author of numerous articles and books on Welsh military history
